Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
Program Objective: ASI in affiliation with Kennedy Health Care Center of Washington Township offer a comprehensive and meticulous educational program to individuals wanting to pursue a career in the medical field as a Certified Nurses Aide. The CNA program consists of 50 hours theory in a classroom setting and 40 hours clinical. The 100 hours program is segmented into 4 Modules. Each Module is created to enable student to assist the resident in activities of daily living including: grooming, feeding, and walking, among other basic needs. In addition to basic skills the student will be trained in taking vital signs, such as temperature, pulse and respirations. Certification requires a skills evaluation exam and a written (or oral) exam. A criminal background check is also performed before the start of class. The program will prepare you to sit for the electronic certification exam and pass a skills evaluation administered by the NJ Dept of Health and Senior Services.
Program Prerequisites: Criminal background check, Recent Physical, two tier TB test (MUST BE DONE TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO CLASS START) & interview with School
